Best Semita EVER!!!!!

We grew up eating this Semita. My grandparents would go off and buy this for us every Holiday and we loooved it. It is soft, semi-sweet bread with raisins covered by a flaky, sugary crust with cinnamon in it. The best pan dulce ever. I have never found this in 25 years of searching around Texas and California. I finally found the place that sells it thanks to my cousin and my Aunt: La Superior Bakery 520 Callaghan St Laredo, TX 78040 (956) 722-9074 The Spanish-speaking ladies there were willing to ship it to me by Priority Mail, I shipped them the boxes and the label. Each loaf is about 18 inches long and costs $7. It was delicious and a real memory voyage. Took me back to my childhood... Try it!

Travel Moments with Marlena 2012

Travel moments with Marlena... The Good: Going to the bathroom with Marlena while Olivia was entranced by Oswald, sending Marlena back while I used the restroom and finding Olivia crying because we left and Marlena comforting her by giving her a piece of gum. The Bad: the stewardess doing a seatbelt check asking Marlena "do you have it on" and Marlena lifting up her pillow AND her dress to show her that she was *indeed* wearing underwear. Olivia And Marlena lying down in the middle of the terminal in SFO The Ugly: Trying to use the bathroom in SFO with the girls waiting outside the stall, telling Marlena to wait outside my stall after she washed her hands and then not being able to find Marlena when I came out and finding her on verge of tears telling me how she got her heel stuck on the moving sidewalk and her knee got all scraped and she was too embarrassed to walk by the big crowd of people who watched this happen and now here is my very overdue period.
