We grew up eating this Semita. My grandparents would go off and buy this for us every Holiday and we loooved it. It is soft,
semi-sweet bread with raisins covered by a flaky, sugary crust with cinnamon in it. The best pan dulce ever. I have never found
this in 25 years of searching around Texas and California.
I finally found the place that sells it thanks to my cousin and my Aunt:
La Superior Bakery
520 Callaghan St
Laredo, TX 78040
(956) 722-9074
The Spanish-speaking ladies there were willing to ship it to me by Priority Mail, I shipped them the boxes and the label. Each
loaf is about 18 inches long and costs $7. It was delicious and a real memory voyage. Took me back to my childhood...
Try it!
