Catwoman: Much maligned, but rightfully so?
I saw this movie the other night and enjoyed it. I was surprised to find that it had won won in the categories of Worst Picture, Worst Actress, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay in 2005 at the Golden Raspberry awards. This film was as vapid as any other superhero film but it was sexy, and Sharon Stone and Halle Berry did a fairly good job, although I can't say that I felt much fervor watching Catwoman fighting Laurel Hedare. The R&B music was pretty cool. I hated the rapid fire, comic-book style cinematography during the dialogue, but the action scenes were respectable. And who could forget these lines:
"White Russian, no ice, no vodka... hold the Kahlua."
"Can I offer you something? Can of tuna? Saucer of milk? Smoking gun?"
"Cats come when they feel like it. Not when they're told."
(in jail cell, to cat): "Y'know, Lassie would have brought me a key."
Bottom line: This movie was entertaining and probably doesn't get the props because catwoman and the villain are female...
