Krampusnacht 2021: Night of Krampus

Our 2001 haunt had a Christmas theme. Well it was a Christmas devil but I was able to use Christmas decorations, several items of which were in free piles after Christmas 2020. I froze during the filming of the scenes in the intro video, it was painful but well worth it. We ran it for Halloween but also for Thanksgiving and Christmas, the latter run in the snow! First time running a haunt in the snow and it was wonderful, my dedicated haunt pack showed up and ran it.

this year our haunt was a Mexican werewolf haunt, "el hombre lobo." This will be my last haunt for at least 2 years as I want to attend my daughter's water polo games and many are out of town. As one friend put it, this is my swan song and it was a success. Many friends joined in the acting and approximately 100 people came theough the haunt. After 8 years of haunting I am happy to say I've had a good saftet record and only 1 kid has cried when one pf my dads added an unexpected jump scare none of us had rehearsed. It's like a time machine Not so much for the turn of the 20th century, the time period in which it is set. But for your first love. The first time you saw them, standing in the doorway. When you know at that moment something has changed forever. The excitement of the first call. The diacovery of the feeling of heat that starts in your stomach and spreads head to toe when you brush against them, get close enough to smell the smell of them. The vulnerability, the desperation, the adoration. The way you felt--it is so well expressed_ by the talented Aria Bedmar as Camino as she falls fast and hard for her art teacher,Maite. Her expressions, her glances. She portrays the urgency, the reckless abansdon, the passion of first love and I can't stop watching. I even loved the episodes featuring her in her doomed marriage to Ilberto. I was rooting for them to fall in love because seeing her portray being in love is so touching. thank you to the amazing people that bridged me to Spain with their videos of this series.

How an Old Fogey on an Old Iphone got Boarding Group #3 for the Rise of the Resistance Ride ar Disney Hollywood Studios on Disney Wifi, May 2021

 My family are HUGE Star Wars fans.  We were really hoping to ride the Rise of the Resistance Ride at Hollywood Studios.

But I don’t use my phone much and I am definitely neither nimble with typing on my phone nor did I think I stood a chance against newer, faster phones.

On this 3rd rescheduled trip in May 2021 I read everything I could find online to try to prepare.

This morning I was able to obtain BOARDING GROUP #3 on Disney Wifi at the Disney Swan Hotel and the TOP factors that helped me were as follows:

6. PRACTICE AT HOME:

Practice using the My Disney Experience App at home:  Make sure you clean up your guest list on the My Disney Experience App and that you have checked for updates on the App Store the night before.

5. SPEED UP YOUR PHONE:

 Close all apps, clear your cache and offload files on your phone beforehand.  Get your phone as fast as you can. 

4.  TEST YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION SPEED THE NIGHT BEFORE:

Use fast.com to test your location for the fastest connection.  Disney Swan Hotel WIFI was by far faster than my cellular connection with Verizon.

HERE IS WHERE TO STAND IF YOU ARE STAYING AT THE DISNEY SWAN:

3.  USE A RELIABLE TIME APP OR SOURCE:  

Use a GOOD time app, website or another phone with a second hand.

Do NOT use TIME. IS which froze on me TWICE in the last minute.  Use TIME.GOV which proved to be much more reliable.

Once your timer hits 6:59:00 start going back and forth between these two pages.

At 6:59:59 BE ON THE 1st PAGE WITH THE IMPERIAL WALKERS IN IT AND EXACTLY AT 6:59:59 Press the JOIN Button on that page.

The JOIN Button should now be visible on the 2nd page (“Attractions:  Rise of Resistance” page)

PUSH IT AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

The next page (not pictured) has your party listed.

Whoever is listed who has a reservation for HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS will AUTOMATICALLY by default be checked.  This will not be the case when you are practicing from home but it will be on the day of your reservation.

DO NOT STOP TO REVIEW THIS LIST:  PUSH JOIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

1. YOUNG HUMAN FACTOR:   If you are not a young human who is fast on their phone, then get one to do it for you!  The key here is not hesitating.  If you don’t have a young human who is really fast on the phone then God Bless You and I especially want you to succeed (solidarity, friend) so…

My Haunted House 2016 "Escape from the Witch"

I made a haunt this year upstairs in my house.  I called it "Escape From the Witch."  The story was that a little girl named Imelda was taken from her bed while she was sleeping by 3 witches.  We went into the witches house first, then into the spooky forest, then the minion battle and finally, the witches hideout.  There we discover that Imelda has become a witch too and wants you to join her...

I plan to do a haunted barn in 2017...
